A safari (pronounced /səˈfɑːri/) is an overland journey, usually a trip by tourists to Africa, traditionally for a big-game hunt; today the term often refers to a trip taken not for the purposes of hunting, but to observe and photograph animals and other wildlife. There is a certain theme or style associated with the word, which includes khaki clothing, belted bush jackets, pith helmets or slouch hats, and animal skins—like leopard's skin.

Entering the English language in the late 19th century, the word safari means "long journey" in Swahili. Originally from the Arabic سفرة (safra) meaning a journey The verb for "to travel" in Swahili is "kusafiri", the noun for the journey is "safari". These words are used for any type of journey, e.g. by bus from Nairobi to Mombasa. The person generally attributed to having used the word in English is Sir Richard Francis Burton, the famous explorer.

The Regimental March of the King's African Rifles was 'Funga Safari', literally 'Halt the March', or, in other words, stop work for the day.

Funga safari, funga safari. Funga safari, funga safari. Hamari ya nani? Hamari ya nani? Hamari ya Bwana Kapteni, Hamari ya keyaa.

Which is, in English:

Halt the march? On whose orders? On the order of the boss captain, On the order of the KAR.

On Kenya's independence from Britain, Funga Safari was retained as the Regimental March of the Kenya Rifles, successor to the K.A.R.

A. You can set up a separate account in the accounts section and limit the applications a person can use. Just don't enable Safari.

How do you import bookmarks into Safari? The imported bookmarks is a HTML file?
Q. I am trying to import my bookmarks into Safari. I have never used safari before. The format of my bookmarks is a HTML file. When I try and import Safari displays the HTML file with the list of URLs but I cannot seem to import that list of bookmarks into Safari. Can anyone help?
Asked by nosh! - Tue Sep 2 21:58:31 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. 1. Open Safari. 2. Choose Bookmarks --> Show all bookmarks 3. Choose File --> New window 4. Position the windows side-by-side so you can see both Safari windows at the same time 5. Select the new window, choose File --> Open File and open your HTML file of links 6. Left-click (or click) and hold on one of the links, and drag it onto the original window, into the bookmarks list. 7. Repeat for all bookmarks 8. Next time, read the documentation on how to properly prepare your bookmarks for import BEFORE you create the export file.

How do I make the safari on my ipod touch work?
Q. Ok, so I have done a lot of searching around the internet to find answers to my question, but none of them have been helpful. I have a router, but I don't understand what I am supposed to do now. Whenever I try to open safari on my ipod, it says "Safari can't open the page because it can't find the server." I'm not very good with technology stuff, so will someone please help me?

A. On your iPod, go into settings. Press "Wi-Fi". Under "Choose a Network", find the one that you use. If it requires a password, then enter it. It should connect. Then try opening Safari. If it doesn't work, then your internet connection has a problem (not your iPod). You can also try contacting apple service if you can't figure it out (www.apple.com).
