NounPlural user agents user agent (plural user agents)
HyponymsAnagramsFrom Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. A user agent is a client application implementing a network protocol used in communications within a client–server distributed computing system. The term most notably refers to applications that access the World Wide Web, but other systems, such as the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), use the term user agent to refer to both end points of a communications session. Web user agents range from Web browsers to search engine crawlers (spiders), as well as mobile phones, screen readers and braille browsers used by people with disabilities. When a user agent operates, it typically identifies itself, its application type, operating system, software vendor, or software revision, by submitting a characteristic identification string to its operating peer. In the HTTP and SIP protocols, this is transmitted in a header field User-Agent. Bots, such as Web crawlers, often also include a URL and/or e-mail address so that the Webmaster can contact the operator of the bot. From Wikipedia under the

Asked by Jiffin - Mon May 17 03:35:55 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. A user agent switcher lets a web browser "lie" to web sites about which browser and operating system you are using. Some web sites respond differently to Internet Explorer, Firefox or a cell-phone browser. Some sites even refuse to talk to the "wrong" browser or operating system. All versions of IE have called themselves Mozilla since way way back in IE2. Back then believe it or not more people used Mozilla browsers than used IE and websites worked in Mozilla(Netscape) and broke in IE. So microsoft tried disguising their browser as Mozilla to make websites work. And if they go back on that decision now, all those websites'll break again :) Answered by Bill Y - Mon Jun 23 00:44:46 2008 Would this Y/A user make a perfect KGB Agent?
Q. He asked another question asking for proof that Che Guevara was a mass murderer. All of the users showed him evidence from legitimate sources, but he gave them all a thumbs down. This shows that he doesn't care about facts. He only wants to push his distorted point of view. He would make a perfect KGB agent because he is an anti-American communist who is committed to destroying our freedom. He needs to leave this country now!! He deleted that question because he didn't get the responses that he wanted. Now, he is asking the same question over again. Wow, look at these liberal responses... This is why liberalism is a mental disorder. Asked by I Love Communism - Mon Feb 8 05:50:59 2010 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments A. Okay... What does this have to do with freedom? Seriously, I want to know-what does his question or the lack of a rebuttal have to do with freedom? I can't help that you really don't know what you're talking about if you make invalid links like that. If you have an actual question by all means ask it-but this is just a totally unrelated side note. Name me one time where this user specifically said he hated freedom. --- "He deleted that question because he didn't get the responses that he wanted. Now, he is asking the same question over again." No-he blocked you; the question is still there-I checked.
